No hot chips for you !

Extra Extra Read all about it..... So it's been a while since the last update, with 1st time winner Atrophy getting extended press coverage on this site over the last two months. Below are the recent event outcomes. Neville St. Poker Showdown Pt. I With a less estrogen filled field than usual, the pro's headed into Poker Showdown I with high hopes. However it was "Cool Hand Drew" clenching a fist full of chips that rocketed to victory. Another win to dmorph shoots him up in the rankings for player of the year contention. Neville St. Poker Showdown Pt. II The field was all testosterone as the cards were dealt and chips riffled. A field of 7 sat down for this Easter invitational, where the chip stacks rose faster than Jesus and an oven full of hot cross-buns. Suffering from the curse was dmorph, his "drunken master" style game play was let down by an exhausted libido. Heads up action saw Theo and Brook lock horns for the first time. An unlucky Jack on the rive...

The Four Musketeers swashbuckle the Crown

Image
And so it was, the quartet went into battle at the Crown Casino. The 4/8 Limit Holdem tables were where the line was drawn and battle commenced. All four Brothers in Arms acquired early scalps, before the long grind began. The three grizzled Musketeers fought bravely for 2 to three hours, but where finally forced into retreat, escaping with their shirts while they were still on their backs. It was only the young D'Artagnan that stayed to fight to the good fight. Momentum and chips were on his side as he uttered the immortal words "Just one hour more". At the end of the night he managed to come away with more of the crowns coin than he had started with, however his sweetheart will not be getting as big a gift as she could have. The lure of riches pried gold from the young musketeers hands rather quickly in that last witching hour. But as escapades go, this was one to be remembered and enjoyed. Fun was had, lessons learnt, and a new hunger for the silky smoothness...

Aussie Millions

Well folks it's January which means there are two international sports on in Melbourne right now, Tennis (not relevant- but there are some hotties) and the Australian Poker Championships at Crown (not so much on the hottie front - but a lot more relevant). Sunday 15th of Jan (this sunday) is the 1st day of the Main Event $10,000 buy-in No Limit Hold'em Tourny . Action kicks off at 12:30pm. I will be attending, and am looking for interested companions. Here's a blurb from pokernews.com The main event at Crown is the Aussie Millions. The $10,000 (AUS) buy in event doubled in size from its first year, and is expected to double again this year, with the field expected to be in the 500 range. A long list of top players are expected to participate, including current world champ Joe Hachem (who made his home in Melbourne for years), Marcel Luske, Antonio Esfandiari, Scott Fischman, Kathy Liebert, and many more. The top prize is expected to be somewhere in the neighborhood of one m...

Round 1 of the 2006 Australian Poker Tour

Image
The APT is set once again to expand its dates and venues into 2006. Coming up in the New Year, a new casino, the Mont Albert Club (run by the father of an APT board member) or the Mac Daddy for short (yeah you know that’s funny, its ok to laugh, laugh dammit!). However, the first round of the APT 2006 schedule is set for Friday Night 6/1/06 at 7pm . No venue has yet been put forward, however the ever increasing popularity of the APT should mean a venue is not far behind. Please post on venue availability and personal availability. This will also be the final time Be(linda) will be playing with us before her move to the European Poker Tour, based out of London . It will also be the last time Amanda has a chance to win before she becomes a year older (and realises life is no longer worth living like the rest of us). EVENT CANCELED DUE TO LACK OF INTREST Back 2 Back Champ Brook "YellowFly" Farrelly heard yelling "PUSSIES"

Pirate Capt. Farrelly says "Walk the plank ye dirty sea dogs!"

The APT Curse sails on... Tis a tale to turn yer hair grey and make yer blood run cold. Tis a tale not meant for twilight hours, when the wind gusts and the taste of salt on ye lips can be felt. A tale to frighten small children, and stiffen the backs of the heartiest of souls. Tis the tale of the Pirate Capt. Farrelly and the fateful voyage of his poker playin companions. It was all aboard at the port of Neville . Six shipmates headed off to the fabled BBQ Island . But who knew then what fate had in store? Who could foreshadow the trickery and the treachery? And who could have foretold..... The CURSE!!!!! With full bellies and full pockets the crew turned to the rogues favourite past time, No-Limit Buccaneers Holdem. The youngest of the crew, the cabin boy, had come off a successful win the previous week at Pirates Cove. Little did he know the APT Curse would strike one so young and innocent. Having barely spoken the words "Has anyone had back to back wins" He was...

"It's my party and I'll Cry if I want to"

Image
Give us a kiss Birthday Boy Ahh the dulcet tones of Lesley Gore, whos’ 1963 single took a strange irony last night as Anto lost a heads up birthday battle... and didn't cry. Instead it was congratulations all round to our newest APT Champion Amanda. Our new champ arrived late to the table, having blinds put in, as she ate out. But the highlight of the night was dynamite DOS, as Theo knocked the FCUK out of half the table. He gave the old one, two K.O. to Dave and Lexx who after buying in, went all in , on their next hands. Theo having none of it, pulled another KK or AA or QQ or KK out to say “oh no you don't!” Bridge was our first exit, while Sam, Dug & Brook hung in consecutively, but were dealt rags until the all in’s where brushed aside by the bigger stacks. Pete, Anto, and the newly arrived Amanda, where all that sat in the way of a big victory for Thez. And after Pete's all in went any which way but loose , it was a three way battle. Theo sat out most of the next...

Powder Poker Reloaded

How about this then a trimmed down budget conscious version aimed more at those who are in it for the socialising and less for the skiing: Mt Buller Friday 2nd - Sat 3rd September. Yes it's out of peak but there will be snow if the weather stays this way, also the World Aerials will be on the following week so they will be making snow. Off peak means less people and cheaper prices Stay on the mountain in a lodge. I've previously stayed at http://www.aeski.com.au/ the place is fine and will cost $125 for the two nights stay. Each put in some petrol money and con the person with the biggest car into driving us all to Mansfield at bottom of mountain. The cars can be left there for the weekend and we can be taken by bus up the mountain $40 return. Last bus up on Friday night leaves at 9.30pm so we may have to get out of work early. For details and timetable see http://www.buslines.com.au/mmbl/ 2 day lift ticket costs $165, 1 day costs $85 Cant remember how much equipment hire is ...

We were all very disappointed that DeeDee chose to stay at home eating Pete's leftovers and lying around in his underpants (though the mental image is giving me tingles). DeeDee we need you there to calm Pete when he gets a bit bored and starts teasing Brook and making outlandish statements about what kind of people like Salt and Vinegar chips. So next time show up or expect more ugly mug shots you swarve mother fucker. As for Amanda and Sam, I have no uglies of you two yet and will let your absence slide as you were probably out doing couple things. Theo, you don't read this so it's no use slaging you off. Also don't know you that well and am worried that you'd head-butt me if I did. That said, I won't be attending next week's game as I'll be in Brisbane. Thanks to the rest of you for coming by and congrats to Ant on another skillful win.
