It's Thursday and ......

Still no official word on whether there is poker on Saturday night. Time and a venue are still to be organised. Rumours abound that it could be at the Neville St "Brickyard", however no official response has been put forward by the venues operators. Any correspondence would be appreciated.

We were all very disappointed that DeeDee chose to stay at home eating Pete's leftovers and lying around in his underpants (though the mental image is giving me tingles). DeeDee we need you there to calm Pete when he gets a bit bored and starts teasing Brook and making outlandish statements about what kind of people like Salt and Vinegar chips. So next time show up or expect more ugly mug shots you swarve mother fucker. As for Amanda and Sam, I have no uglies of you two yet and will let your absence slide as you were probably out doing couple things. Theo, you don't read this so it's no use slaging you off. Also don't know you that well and am worried that you'd head-butt me if I did. That said, I won't be attending next week's game as I'll be in Brisbane. Thanks to the rest of you for coming by and congrats to Ant on another skillful win.

May I nominate an APT mascot?

Below is some info on the prize money at this years WSOP (World Series of Poker). This is for the main event tournament that had 5,619 players all paying $10,000 each for a spot. Kinda makes our game look a little..... small . Laf. Also released today were the payouts. The payouts are flattened a bit from years past, as Harrah's wanted to make sure that everyone at the final table got paid at least 1 million dollars. The money in this tournament is bordering on the crazy. How does $304,000 sound? How about $304,000 for finishing 27th place? If you finish 166th, you still get almost $50,000. To put this in perspective, the player who finishes 139th this year will make more than Annie Duke did for finishing 10th five years ago. The top prize this year is $7,500,000. This is the top prize in the history of any kind of game, sport, or any other prized event. The total prize pool is $52,818,610, roughly equal to seven times the prize pool of next week's British Open. The pay...

Drugs are bad ... Mmm Kay!

Under construction..

Due to recent industrial action, construction of my city pad will not be complete before this saturday. Instead i propose a poker afternoon for saturday the 16th of july. Start time 3pm, this leaves plenty of time in the evening for drinks, dancing or trouser antics at illegal brothel next door!

Congratulations Pete - Champ at the Atrophy Invitational Tournament

The APT would like to congratulate Pete (sparkneon) on another APT victory. The Atrophy Invitational is a yearly event, and much heralded by poker fans and players alike. Pete came into this event under the weather, but when put under the gun, he came out firing. Big hands and monster pots dominated this years event, with players trading chips and curse while the party atmosphere grew to a crescendo. Pete seeming agitated at the early lack of action, muscled his way back into the game with some huge all in bets that went uncalled. However the turning point, and hand of the night, came when Sam moved all in on a stone cold bluff. Pete toyed with the idea of a fold, then moved over the top to call. The read was good, and Sam's night was over. Pete's now commanding chip stack showed no mercy as he steam rolled the opposition towards another victory. Who will win the next APT event, will it be YOU?
