Aussie Millions

Well folks it's January which means there are two international sports on in Melbourne right now, Tennis (not relevant- but there are some hotties) and the Australian Poker Championships at Crown (not so much on the hottie front - but a lot more relevant).

Sunday 15th of Jan (this sunday) is the 1st day of the Main Event $10,000 buy-in No Limit Hold'em Tourny. Action kicks off at 12:30pm. I will be attending, and am looking for interested companions. Here's a blurb from pokernews.com

The main event at Crown is the Aussie Millions. The $10,000 (AUS) buy in event doubled in size from its first year, and is expected to double again this year, with the field expected to be in the 500 range. A long list of top players are expected to participate, including current world champ Joe Hachem (who made his home in Melbourne for years), Marcel Luske, Antonio Esfandiari, Scott Fischman, Kathy Liebert, and many more. The top prize is expected to be somewhere in the neighborhood of one million US dollars, and the competition will be fierce.

More information on the Aussie Millions can be found at auspokerchamps.com

UPDATED PLAYER LIST

Mike Sexton, John Juanda, Barry Greenstein, Michael Sampoerna, Phil Ivey, Tony G

Sammi, when Iron Chef comes to town i'll make sure you have front row seats.

"Mmm the way the crab meat and the lotus leaf mingle together, its, its like, um how would you say, a dance of swans, yes i like it very much hehehe."

For those that missed it we watched Phil Ivey (had a small to medium stack before we went to lunch, and hour later we came back and it had tripled), Daniel Negraneu(sp?) busted out at the feature table, Marcel Luske had his upside down glasses on, John Juanda was sipping wine and in ok shape, and Tony G was placid and looked like he should be at centre link (he had already won over 200k the week before). Mike Sexton looked like George Hamilton (his watched looked like it cost more than my car). Fun was had by all.

On a side note, im playing on PokerStars atm in cash tourneys ($1.20, $1.50 , $3 buy ins 9-45 plyrs). So far i have made the money a about 35-40% of the time, which is keeping me in profit (barley, mostly thanks to my first win in a 45 plr feild for $14), as i tend to tilt a little too much online atm.

Anyways... Sammi write yourself up!
